> Workshops on Audio Visual Archiving
SOFIA conducts basic and advanced Audio Visual Archiving workshops for the benefit of organizations or institutions that maintain a collection of AV materials, to better educate their staff on the proper care, handling and preservation of their holdings.
> Film Screenings
From 2010 to 2011, SOFIA programmed a highly successful film screening series at the Cultural Center of the Philippines entitled "Overlooked Films, Underrated Filmmakers" which brought together students, film fans, and cineasts. Whenever possible, cast members or the director of the selected film was invited to give a short Q & A. SOFIA intends to mount another series of film showings by next year.
> Film Restoration
With funding assistance from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts, the National Film and Sound Archive, as well as the Australian government, SOFIA was able to initiate the restoration of a number of Filipino film classics. (for a complete list of films, please click here)
